Really good breakfast for a reasonable price. So much food for your money! Pastrami Rueben was perfect. Banana bread was warm and tasty. Eggs, potatoes and bacon were all amazing. Biscuit was flaky and huge. Great breakfast in a quirky place.

Good healthy portions. Good service. Lots of different wooden spoons to look at. Nice.🥄 Mom and Pop place!

So much food for the price. I really enjoy the pancakes a they are home corneal style. We meet Tim the owner at the beach and he invited us over to try it the next day. So glad we did. It was a good experience and such a cool history of how the current owner night from an Hungarian person. And the name came from wooden spoon are for good luck. Kim the waitress was super friendly and very helpful. A glass never went below half full

Get in and sit down. Order that food and eat it. You will have no regrets. Sitting area is tight but extremely friendly. The food prices are extremely reasonable for any vacation budget. The service is the traditional diner attitude. Respect them and they will be nice to you. Dont assume respect earn it. The food tastes wonderful and I am excited to come back in the future.

This place is no joke! Great food with hard working staff. We stayed at Hawks Cay and drove 10 minutes south, well worth it. Big thanks to our waitress Argentina like the country! Dale tigresa.

Morning breakfast called for a traditional location in Florida and all arrows pointed to Wooden Spoon. It's a yellow building located off the main road. The parking lot is small so careful it's hard to park. As you enter the establishment, its a time machine as you return to 70's counter top dinning experience. The servers are friendly and food is delivered quick at a low price. Our fear was the 5 month old fire engine who was starting to make awkward noises in our vehicle. The question, could he survive and not annoy everyone with his chants which leads to us earning the glances of death by the public. Kids ordered pancakes with eggs, I had sausage omelette and wife ordered eggs/pancakes with oatmeal. The breakfast was warm and ok for a traditional American breakfast. So if you're looking for a quick, low cost meal wooden spoon is the place especially with kids since meal prices are high at the KEYS.

The food was good. BUT The gross thing was that I watched the cook, eating his food while he was cooking food for other. Never once did he put his mask on. Then i watched the waitress wipe sweat off of her upper lip and did not wash her hands and continued on to fix the silverware in napkins without a mask on. Nasty. I could not finish my food.

I highly recommend this place! It may be small and have a little bit of a wait, but it is well worth it. Once we got seated we got our food quick. Our waitress made sure our drinks stayed full. They have great omelets and biscuit and gravy. Don't miss out on their breakfast.

Everything that's written is true! Take a seat at the counter if you can. The guy puts on an orchestrated one-man show on the grill and he's amazing! We had our meal in under 30 seconds! We've decided that people on Marathon sure can cook! We loved this!

There was a wait for the food which isn't a big deal but the country fried steak n potatoes were barely warm, food should've been hot... nothing special about the gravy, looked seasoned well but very bland.

What a neat little gem! They have huge portions. Biscuits and omelets and potatoes were all delicious! Food came super fast and they make it in front of you, which I love. Service is very friendly as well.

Visited this place today and the service was the worst ever. The waitress had a terrible attitude and was acting like she was doing us a big favor. I have never been treated by a waitress so terribly. Her attitude was not reserved just for us, it was for the other tables too. The food was very greasy too and the biscuit was undercooked. What made it worse was that I saw the waitress eat in the kitchen, which I am fairly sure is not allowed for hygienic reasons. I will never visit this place again.

The Spoon is our favorite breakfast on earth!!Holly, Lisa, Johnny,Tim.and Alex all greeted us today. With great food and friendships, we couldn't ask for more!

The servers are nice and friendly. Food its good everything its made in restaurant fresh. It's more like breakfast place . The restaurant its small needs to be remodel its old.

Super fast and friendly service. This feels like a "locals" breakfast spot, but us tourists feel right at home here! We never miss a chance to stop in when we're in the Keys. Save a napkin for your forehead if you get the Mexican omelet ♨️

Such a diamond in the rough....great food, great atmosphere and such friendly people! Our waitress was on top of our drinks, always smiling and genuinely seemed happy to be waiting on us! Service was extremely fast, food was delicious!

The waitress Kim is extremely rude and acts like she is doing you a favor by taking your order. But this place is very very unsanitary. The cook makes the food on the grill directly in front of the counter. He wears no gloves and was constantly wiping the sweat from his head then picking up the bacon and sausage with his bare hands. No gloves. Nasty Nasty Nasty.

Really blown away with how good the food, coffee, grits, and home made biscuit was! Don't let the appearance fool you, there's a pearl in this oyster!

Went to the keys for 4 days, came to this place on my way out- I wish I discovered it in the beginning of my trip! The best customer service I’ve experienced in months- while in my own city or while traveling, I believe the waitress’ name is Lisa? She was delightful, the food was DELICIOUS and it came out within 10-15 minutes of us ordering. They also have fresh homemade breads that are spectacular. I’m definitely coming back to this place anytime I go to the keys!!

We arrived here about 30 minutes to closing so I feel the need to mention this first. There were several people inside at different stages of eating so we figured it was fine. The food was actually really good, which is why I am giving this review 3 stars. The lady who served us was clearly rushed and wanted to be done, so I did my best to order quickly and eat fast. Even when I did my best to speed everything up and we actually left right at closing, I still felt we were treated as if we didn't belong. It was strange because the other people were still there enjoying their meals and she didn't seem to have any issues with them. I am just assuming they must have been locals. I normally would not make a post like this but I felt the level of disregard she had for us compared to the rest of the customers was really strange and I was just happy to leave when I did. I didn't even finish my coffee I felt so uncomfortable.

Great little restaurant for a traditional breakfast. Biscuits and gravy were very tasty, biscuits big and fluffy. Good corned beef hash, good potatoes, eggs made to order, and they were kind enough to make a chocolate chip pancake for our son though it wasn't on the menu. Really cool wooden spoon collection as decor. (They have scrapple on the menu, though we didn't order it. Don't see that a lot... )Would happily eat here again.

Stopped here for breakfast coming from Key West and I was pleasantly surprised. The pancakes were generous size. Potatoes were really good.

This place is amazing! Huge portions and that local feel. If you live in Marathon, or are just passing through, you need to stop here! Breakfast is great, and the portions are huge. Beware though, the dining room is small. But they cram a lot of seats in a small place. Definitely worth a stop, and it won't break the bank either.

Finally ate here after coming to the Keys for years, totally worth it! The corned beef hash was some of the best I've ever had and the zucchini bread was amazing. The staff were really nice and stayed on top of things even tho the place was jam packed.

Biscuits and grits. Check. Steak, biscuits and eggs. Check. Down home country feeling. Double check! Wonderful vintage breakfast 🥞 ☕️🍳 restaurant with no frills yet quite impressive. The kitchen and wait staff have a great routine and are able to really turn over the tables and satisfy a steady steam of hungry islanders. The coffee was weak. Stop here but hurry cause they close right after lunch.

Good authentic, deli breakfast.. very filling, and right on point!!.. they have all the classics!!.. the staff was friendly and helpful, and I'd recommend to family and friends if they are ever in the Marathon Fl area!!

We Loved this restaurant and the amazing food!Worth stopping when heading north or south on your way in the keys! They are Very quick, even when they are very busy! They have Excellent service. The owner is a very funny and friendly person. He is a great person to meet. Excellent home style food. Great prices for the keys and anywhere. A jewel in the keys. We will definitely be going back soon! Best breakfast we’ve had in months!

The place is truly American, and food is really good. People are friendly and the place has everything of a real American breakfast place. That being said, hygiene could improve... But would that remove part of its charm? Just don't go if you don't feel like eating something cooked with bare hands

Great bagel breakfast sandwich. Loaded with bacon, plenty of cheese and egg , everything bagel. We ordered to go. It was hot and ready fast.

Very busy but great team work minus one waitress unfortunately. Chef was GREAT working very fast making tons of orders! This one waitress could not handle the environment which made me feel bad for her...but when she got a attitude with other customers & just had a bad attitude in general made it not okay. Definitely recommend this place overall! Thanks Wooden Spoon!

Homemade breakfast! The biscuits were so big and yummy, service was great & the owners are super nice. We liked it so much we ate there every morning during our stay. Great spot!

Great locals breakfast an lunch spot in a very traditional diner atmosphere. Very friendly staff. It was packed the whole time we were there. Would recommend the biscuits as they were huge!

Great food and service. Do wish the cook had gloves on tho, as he kept messing with his ear buds and then grabbing food to throw it on the flat top and I didn't see him wash his hands throughout the time we were eating. Exceptional biscuits.

Good hearty breakfast. Fantastic biscuits. Busy but found table. Husband loved the grits.
